About Me
Hi, I'm Pepper Bethel and I come from humble beginnings. I grew up in Los Angeles, California with three siblings all being raised by a single mother with limited means and education. Early on I was surrounded by poverty, crime and hopelessness. Given this, I felt I was destined for something far greater than my current station.
As a child I excelled in my schooling and as a teen I also excelled in student government, band and various sports. I gained exposure through activities like the Academic Decathalon, Mock Trial, the Black Student Union among other extracurricular activities.
At 18, I made the brave decision to join the U. S. Navy knowing that my family did not have the means or resources to send me to college.
My military career began with a bang; I was promoted early and graduated in the top 3 of my class. During my service, I earned a National Defense Ribbon and Good Conduct Medal while serving in Mississippi, Puerto Rico, and Japan. That experience grounded me in discipline, mission focus, and service to others.
Following my military service, I built a successful career in sales, financial services, and entrepreneurship, focusing on empowering individuals, families, and small businesses through strategic planning and operational guidance.
Currently, I serve as Sr. Vice President of the TPI Group, Inc., a 30-year-old tax and accounting firm that serves over 3,000 small businesses and individual clients annually.
I have completed numerous certifications in financial services, estate planning, and business development. My practical knowledge of compliance, finance, and small business ecosystems uniquely positions me to contribute to this commission.
I am passionate about helping small businesses thrive and committed to advocating for inclusive, strategic solutions that reflect the voices and needs of all entrepreneurs.

- Securing the purchase of the business
- Retaining key staff and client continuity
- Investing in new technology to better serve clients
- Launching education and mentorship programs for underserved entrepreneurs
